The brand

Dune London are global players in fashion footwear and accessories, a British brand with roots firmly in London but delivering online orders to over 140 countries worldwide. The business is a UK high street success story, growing from a small fashion store to a global business.

The challenge

Dune London needed a UX and website design agency to help them deliver a full website redesign. They required a website that would reflect their personality, and equally inspire and provide a seamless shopping experience to their audience.

They recognised their customers as sophisticated shoppers who moved across channels and devices. Knowing that their customers would research online before visiting a store, Dune London looked to redesign their website to create a richer, more emotive experience for shoppers.

The Creativebrief process

The chosen agency would be working closely with Dune’s in-house UX resource and external development partner, so the client needed a creative partner who would reflect their non-hierarchical and collaborative culture. They looked to co-create but also be challenged by the agency.

Following a comprehensive RFI process, our team shortlisted the best UX and design agencies for a chemistry meeting; a session for the client to open up about the brief, discuss the agencies’ ways of working, and exactly how they could help take the website to the next stage of evolution. Based on the chemistry meeting, the client invited a selection of agencies to present a final proposal of recommendations for the brand.

The pitches were held at the agency offices, with the whole team present so the client could meet exactly who they would be working with. Part one was to provide a project approach – detailing costs, timelines, teams, and deliverables, while the second part was to create an example of an optimal PLP (project listing page). The client was looking to be inspired and needed to be confident that the chosen agency could deliver innovative experiences for their online shoppers.

The result

Dune London appointed Hatched as their UX and website design agency. Hatched were chosen for their ability to drive a richer and more emotive experience to digital shoppers as well as showing they understood London to be a crucial part of the brand’s DNA. Hatched showed their passion from the beginning to build on the brand’s success and develop a website to help Dune London continue to grow globally.
