If there’s one thing that everyone can share in at Christmas it's the food. In Waitrose’s Christmas campaign food is front and centre as the campaign underlines ‘as long as the food’s good, everything is good.’

The campaign film created with the help of Saatchi & Saatchi is set to the soundtrack of Depeche Mode’s ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’. The song sets the upbeat tone for a Christmas party where despite mishaps good food saves the day.

The joy-filled ad contains a multitude of relatable blunderous Christmas moments. From guests arriving too early, to a power cut and people getting locked in the bathroom. Yet no moment spoils the party vibe as everything can be salvaged by indulging in some delicious Waitrose food.

The spot features ladies stuck in the bathroom who are saved by a box of Christmas chocolates, while a power cut can’t dampen spirits when a platter of cheeses and a ‘shimmering salmon mousse’ is produced.

We know that Christmas isn’t always smooth sailing and there is bound to be a hiccup or two along the way. However, these inconveniences are always forgotten while you’re busy enjoying delicious food, surrounded by your loved ones and creating magical memories. And let’s face it, at Christmas it really is time for the good stuff, as when the food’s good, everything else is good.” says Nathan Ansell, Customer Director at Waitrose.

The festive film has been shot by film director, Autumn De Wilde, and even contains a cameo appearance from Graham Norton who brings the Waitrose No.1 Golden Bûche de Noël to the party.

Showcasing the glitz and glamour of a Christmas party the campaign places the Waitrose Christmas product line front and centre. Alongside the TVC the campaign features a number of out of home executions that champion the food range. Different creative executions feature a range of ‘Good’ promises for the festive season, including ‘Good excuse to eat cake for breakfast’ and ‘Good luck saving leftovers.’

While product-specific ad that will run from the 6th November will highlight key products from the festive range including, Turkey Crown with Jewelled Stuffing, No.1 The Golden Bûche de Noël, No.1 Crumble Top Mince Pies with Cranberry & Orange and Party Food, including Christmas Smoked Salmon Eclairs, Feta Popcorn Bites with Hot Honey, Paneer Fries, Pork & Chorizo Whirls, Teriyaki Meatballs, Hash Browns in Blankets, Vegan Asian Selection, King Prawn Gyoza and Christmas Beef Yorkshire Puddings.

The advert will air for the first time on television on the 2nd November at 8:15pm during Emmerdale on ITV1.

By positioning Waitrose food at the heart of the campaign the festive spot shows how food can bring joy, cure any mishaps and facilitate moments of togetherness at Christmas.
