The campaign from Mother London shows Christmas through the lens of a magical snow globe.
M&S Clothing and Home is shaking up Christmas with a festive campaign that looks at the holidays through the lens of a child’s snow globe.
The campaign, created by Mother London, is filled with joy and magic, serving up a range of style inspiration for the festive season.
The campaign film stars young Britain’s Got Talent star, Skylar Blu as she joyfully races through a house that transforms into a festive wonderland. The spot shows Christmas through Blu’s eyes as she plays with a magical snow globe that shakes up the festivities.
The spot opens with Blu standing amongst her family when she spots the snow globe from across the room. As she looks into the globe and tilts it, the setting transforms with festivities and the magic begins. The first shake sees baubles come crashing down the stairs, another shake sees the house tipped upside down and her family defy gravity dancing across the walls.
Shakes of the globe result in magical events with snow falling, decorations whirling and the family dancing around in joy. Filled with infectious energy, the film ends with the line: ‘Christmas Starts Here’.
The film has been directed by Emmy-nominated Elliot Power, with choreography by Corey Baker, known for his work on the movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, set to the song ‘I believe in miracles’ by Jackson Sisters.
“The excitement of kids at Christmas is infectious, it reminds us what it felt like and it takes us back - this is not just a fashion film but a festive flight of fancy through a child’s eyes, a visual spectacle with a playful tone, with beautiful elevated festive fashion integrated throughout,” says Director, Elliott Power.
Spreading joy throughout the festive season, the campaign will run across a range of channels between 7th November to 15th December. The spot premiers at 10.30 am on Thursday 7th November during ITV’s This Morning.
The campaign is set to reach 51m customers an average of 13 times. The full 90 second version showcases the best of M&S Womenswear, Menswear, Sleepwear, Kidswear, Home and gifting this festive season, while 10-15 second breakdowns tap into the key Christmas mindsets with bespoke edits that focus on partywear, gifting and homeware.
Cut-down versions of the film will run across multiple platforms including cinema, dynamic digital screens across key cities and print cover wraps. On social media and online, customers can interact with the ad by uploading a photo of their own Christma tree into a personalised animated AI-generated snowglobe. Customers can enter their snowglobes into a competition to bring it to life with a 3D real-life version.
Shaking up the festivities with fantasy and magic, M&S Clothing and Home delivers Christmas inspiration with joy.
