Move aside Santa, ‘Cataclaws’ is here to celebrate the power of play in a festive campaign from Lego.
The upbeat campaign, produced and developed by the brand in house. With Our Lego Agency working in partnership with the Lego Global Brand. The spot showcases the power of imaginative play as the festive Lego feline spreads Lego festive joy.
The film tells the story of the playful ‘Cataclaws’, born from the imagination of a group of kids and their Lego bricks. The group builds the cat together which soon springs into life and pounces around with festive joy.
‘Cataclaws’ embarks on a journey through the streets spreading Christmas joy. A wall bursts with Legos, at the mall water hydrants burst with snow-like white Lego pieces and in a hairdresser customers are treated to new lego hairstyles. The cat successfully transforms everyday situations into imaginative moments of joy, bringing families together with fun for the holiday season. A news reporter pops up to show that this joy has been spread by Cataclaws all around the world.
The film was directed by Brazilian directing duo Alaska and production company New-Land and features more than 20 different Lego products and unique builds. The upbeat spot champions the power of imagination to remind audiences that play is important during the holidays.
The campaign hides a host of firsts and surprises for Lego fans to keep their eyes peeled for, including the chance for fans to build their own mini Cataclaws in Lego stores. Lego will also be selling Cataclaws Christmas sweaters for fans who want to accessorize their Minifigures for the festive season. There is also a Cataclaws beanie beanie build that audiences can try.
