With the cost of living crisis affecting consumers up and down the UK, retail giant Boots has launched its largest ever savings drive to help consumers afford the products they need and love at a time when finances are tight.

A total of 1300 promotions and deals will be available each month. Boots is also focused on offering value to its customers through its Boots everyday essentials range, Price Lock promise and Boots Price advantage schemes.

The first of an array of cost of living friendly schemes from the retailer is the ‘Boots Everyday’ label has been created to help customers easily find the lowest priced essential products and has now been expanded to include a further 60 health and beauty lines, priced between 50p and £2.50. Since its creation in September 2022, Boots Everyday has become a favourite with customers with sales up by 35%. To help customers get the products they need at affordable prices, the new selection includes Boots-brand vitamins at 99p, skincare lines including face wash and moisturiser at £1.50, and new organic cotton wool pads, balls and tips from 60p.

Another way Boots is helping customers to save is through its Boots Price Lock Promise which has been updated to ensure it includes the products that are truly essential for customers guided by Boots charity partner, The Hygiene Bank. The charity is on the front line of helping people that need hygiene essentials the most and are therefore perfectly placed to direct Boots on the products that are in need during the cost-of-living crisis. With the help of The Hygine Bank Boots has selected over 400 product lines to include in the Price Lock which will see prices frozen until at least April 2023.

Using customer research data, Boots has also identified the most popular brands with customers and is offering deals of up to 50% off on those lines which include the likes of Soap & Glory, Dove and Maybelline to make up the ‘save up to half price on the brands you love’ promotion.

On top of this Boots Advantage Card holders can continue to get exclusive savings through Price Advantage. The scheme now offers even deeper discounts, including savings of up to a third across a wider selection of brands each month.

Supporting customers in the cost of living crisis

“It is more important than ever for us to offer winter savings to help our customers through the cost-of-living crisis. In addition to extending our Boots Everyday essentials label, we are renewing our Price Lock Promise and continuing to offer big savings through Price Advantage,” explained Steve Ager, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer at Boots UK.

When times are tough and funds are tight it's important for brands to show that they are there for consumers and Boots has chosen to demonstrate its commitment to its customers by introducing an array of promotions to ease the pressure. Through product deals that highlight the value available at Boots, the retailer is able to build up favour with customers which in turn creates a stronger sense of loyalty.

Boots’ commitment to keeping prices fair and communicating deals to customers in a time they need it most does not go amiss. Whilst it's not always possible to slash prices, communication and loyalty schemes are a great way to maintain relationships with customers in times of crisis when value is crucial.
