Argos’ brand mascot Trevor the dinosaur is rocking out this Christmas in the retailer's festive spot, which also stars Connie the doll.

The upbeat spot features Trevor living his best almost-Christmas life rocking out to his own cover of the T-Rex classic hit ‘20th Century Boy’ on top of a Marshall speaker mountain.

The festive spot continues to build on the ‘There’s More To Argos’ brand platform which launched last year. It follows last year’s product-focused Dancer campaign

The campaign will include TV, press, out of home and social. As well as a dedicated activation which promises to allow participants to bring their own Christmas dreams to life.

The spot was directed by Golden Globe-winning director, Michael Gracey, who directed The Greatest Showman. It sees Trevor the dinosaur living out his own showman dreams as the headline act for an adoring crowd of thousands of fans, which are all his best friend Connie.

The film was animated by ETC, with music from David Kosten and sound by Munzie at Wave.

Laura Boothby, Head of Campaigns at Argos, said: “Our customers love Trevor the dinosaur and Connie the doll, so we're thrilled they're back again to spread some festive fun and magic in such an energetic and upbeat way. At Argos, whatever your loved ones are dreaming of this Christmas, we’ve got it covered. Whether it’s the latest and best in sound and tech, or the top toys of the season”

Matt Moreland and Chris Clarke, Group Creative Directors at T&Pm, added: “We wanted to turn it up to 11 this Christmas and create something that really rocked. We’re delighted with how the campaign turned out. Big thanks to everyone that made it happen. Literal dream team.”

The 40 second spot is set to premiere for the first time on Friday 1st November on shows including  Gogglebox and Big Brother. The launch date mirrors last year’s launch date with Argos maintaining its pole position as the first big festive retailer out of the starting blocks. The festive advertising season, the UK creative industry’s answer to the Superbowl, is well and truly underway.
