The Global Women in Marketing Awards 2021 recognised the women making a difference and building back better in the marketing industries across the world.
Jackie Stevenson, Founder and Global CEO of the Brooklyn Brothers picked up the Special Award for Outstanding Contribution to Marketing at the Global Women in Marketing Awards 2021.
The awards, which were held in Central London last night (2th March) also recognised Melissa Reeve, Global Head of Strategic Brand Management at ASOS UK, who picked up the Best Leader in Marketing Award (Brand). While Tamara Littleton, CEO of The Social Element UK scooped the Best Leader In Marketing Award (Agency).
Ade Onilude, Founder and CEO of Women in Marketing, said: “This year’s winners demonstrate the very best of our industry. We continue to be inspired by these women who transform marketing even at a time where women’s roles in the workplace and home were challenged globally."
The awards reflect the depth and breadth of women’s achievements and the full list of winners are below. The 2021 celebration marked a return to in-person events and was supported by venue partner Live Nation UK. The awards ceremony was hosted by Tamara Gillan, Co-Founder of the WealthiHer Network.
Our wellbeing is never more important than it is now, and as we take time to recover and rebuild, it is important that we champion our achievements that have triumphed in the face of difficulties.
Ade Onilude, Founder and CEO of Women in Marketing
Onilude, explained that the theme of the awards - Hope, Humanity and Healing, was inspired by the turmoil of the pandemic and a genuine desire from across the industry to truly build back better. “The disproportionate effect of the global pandemic on women has been well documented. Listening and observing the impact has shaped our global theme of hope, humanity and healing.” She continued: “Despite these challenges, we felt it was more important than ever to celebrate and champion women shaping the marketing sphere.”
According to Onilude, the 2021 awards were a chance for both reflection and transformation, She explained: “Our wellbeing is never more important than it is now, and as we take time to recover and rebuild, it is important that we champion our achievements that have triumphed in the face of difficulties. As we move forward and heal, this year’s global awards will focus on the digital transformation – both personally and industry-wide – and how women’s efforts and sheer strength have hugely contributed to shaping the future of the marketing sphere.”
Tamara Gillan, Founder of the WealthiHer Network and Host of The Global Women in Marketing Awards 2021, added: “Through celebrating the great work of these amazing marketers from the UK and beyond, we create role models and set the standard to make this industry fit for the future. Women in Marketing is so much more than an awards, it's a network of collaborators building a more hopeful tomorrow. To this year’s winners and the wonderful WiM Founder Ade, we applaud you."
