Food & DrinkThe UN Food and Agricultural Organisation estimates that 85% of marine fish stocks are either fully exploited or over fished. To combat this shocking revelation, two problems need to be addressed; one the depleting fish stocks and two, creating a sustainable protein alternative, better for both the individual and the world.
Quorn’s latest product development aims to do just that. The brand launched their vegan Fishless Fillet, battered and breaded, at an event hosted on a boat on the Thames by Ketchum London. The event allowed people to sample the Fillets as well as listen to a discussion about the health of the oceans.
Quorn’s newest products will launch in March this year to join the already existing Quorn Fishless Fingers. Alex Glen, marketing director at Quorn Foods UK revealed that “More than half of all UK consumers are now reducing their meat consumption as awareness about the environmental impact of people’s dietary choices reaches record levels.”
It is impossible to ignore the glaring reality that the health of our planet is directly linked to the health of the ocean. With this launch, Quorn introduces a practical, and tasty, alternative to a British classic that may just convert even the most loyal chippie.
