Samsung, long known for its mobile technology, has made its first foray into the world of health and fitness with the launch of their Samsung Health Wearables. The brand worked with Ketchum on an influencer marketing campaign to position themselves as the number one for wearables, entering into a new category for the brand.

Samsung and Ketchum partnered with 19 handpicked fitness influencers on a fitness event at 1Rebel gym to demonstrate the diversity of the wearables. From monitoring your squats to tracking your heart rate and checking your calorie count, the influencers put the products to the test, pushing themselves to the limit and monitoring their activity in the process.

Many more consumers today trust their peers for advice and recommendations on products and brand affiliations. So, it is a poignant move for Samsung to launch the first of their health wearables with a group of fitness influencers. The fact that the event took place at a popular gym only serve to extend the campaign’s reach.

The event generated over 130 pieces of social which in turned received over 18 million impressions and 40,000 engagements. It demonstrated the huge popularity of wearables that allow you to monitor your fitness levels and adjust accordingly, encouraging the user to live a healthy lifestyle.
