EducationA good, supportive education has the power to change a child’s life, no matter their background, gender or race. Education can help instil confidence in a child, whether that’s discovering their passion for algebra, painting, history or writing.
Brands2Life have had an ongoing partnership with Ark Globe Academy since 2016. This year, the school celebrates its 10th anniversary. The Academy, which is in Elephant & Castle in London, has over a thousand students aged between 5 and 18 years old. What started out as a failing school, the Academy has now seen 100% of its students receive university offers since 2017.
Amongst students the number one job choice was a doctor, with over a third keen to embark on a career in STEM and over one in ten looking to enter the world of sport. Since the school was first started, at least twenty new professions have emerged from students including influencer, game designer and Youtuber.
The 10th anniversary campaign from Brands2Life, ‘Globe Wings’, celebrates the ambition and drive of the school’s students. The five-metre wide illustration has been installed on the wall by the school’s entrance to mark the anniversary and inspire the students and the wider community. Each feather in the wings depicts the different dream jobs hand drawn by the students combined to create the rainbow wings.
The partnership between the agency and the school emerged when the agency moved to Southwark and it continues in the form of mentoring programmes and summer work experience. By giving the students a realistic preview of what working in the marketing world is like, they are helping to inspire the next generation and to show them that there is more than one dream job out there.
