Consumer AdviceAlexander and Sergei are (arguably) one of TV’s best loved duos in recent years. Their partnership has been through many an up, seeing them more recently star in their very own blockbuster movie-esq trailer. They are of course comparethemarket.com’s meerkat mascots. And now, there’s another meerkat joining their gang.
But this one looks a little different; meet AutoSergei. Created by VCCP alongside an accompanying ad, AutoSergei is a computerised meerkat that helps consumers switch energy providers. This automated meerkat is part of the in-app service Energy Check designed to save time, money and effort.
Whilst the meerkats themselves are immediately recognisable, what often isn’t for consumers is where to find the best bargains. Trawling through the internet hunting down deals just isn’t time or cost effective.
Which is where this latest piece of tech comes in. With this launch, the brand aligns their mascots with their product offering, creating a tangible face for the brand’s core purpose. The fact that AutoSergei is a machine version of the already well loved mascot is just a cute bonus.
