Walkers classics go huge on Halloween

The vintage horror campaign from Pod London features giant versions of Wotsits and Monster Munch.

First Frankenstein’s monster, now giant-sized versions of Walkers crisps. This Halloween Walkers is dialling up the vintage horror for a seasonal spooky campaign.

Playing on the idea of classic transformational creatures that go bump in the night such as werewolves, vampires and zombies, Walkers puts Wotsits and Monster Munch at the heart of the change. In a campaign video reminiscent of vintage horror films, people watch in fear as they watch their packets of crisps grow into giants. 

Created with the help of Pod London, the agency repurposed existing content from previous campaigns to create a playful video that pays homage to iconic horror. 2D and 3D animation was used to help the Wotsits and Monster Munch grow in front of the protagonists eyes.

The campaign breaks across online, social and cinema on October 11, with Video On Demand to follow. Pod London worked with PepsiCo in-house agency Sips & Bites, Absolute Post for colour grading and MSE for video editing.

Filled with the fun and spooks of Halloween the campaign capitalises on a seasonal moment while maintaining Walker’s cheeky tone of voice.
