The new campaign from The Or demands attention with its ‘See You Next Tuesday’ strapline
‘See You Next Tuesday’ is the strapline demanding attention in the new campaign from Taco Bell, created by The Or.
Yet rather than being a slur, the phrase is employed as an invite to a £2 taco and drink deal happening at Taco Bell every Tuesday. Playing on the cheeky, well-known phrase, the new out of home and social campaign stops audiences in their tracks. The campaign runs across locations in the UK and aims to put a fun, more positive spin on the words often associated with a more offensive term.
The billboards are live across several sites around the UK, including London, Leeds, Edinburgh and Birmingham and OOH is to be supported by assets which will run on Taco Bell UK’s social channels.
Across social the ‘See You Next Tuesday' campaign hammers home the cheeky double meaning even further in a typography based video. Beginning with scenarios that might make the audience want to say ‘See You Next Tuesday’ such as ‘Barber doing you dirty?’, a dance music soundtrack cuts in with Taco Bell’s logo and new Tuesday deal. Instead of wanting to say ‘See You Next Tuesday’ audiences are encouraged to instead go to Taco Bell and make everything better.
“Life can throw all sorts of curveballs at you and we all deserve something to look forward to. The Or have perfectly grasped this through the lens of British humour, creating an eye-catching campaign that frames Taco Tuesday as a weekly highlight and unmissable pick me up,” explains Lucy Dee, Head of Marketing at Taco Bell UK.
By flipping a well known phrase on its head and creating an inside joke with its audience, Taco Bell is able to stop audiences in their tracks with both the cheeky campaign and its impressive new offering. In the midst of a cost of living crisis, the launch of the Taco Tuesday £2 deal will no doubt act as a pick me up, be it a ‘See You Next Tuesday’ kind of day or not.
