Rumour has it that Pinterest, the social media pinboard site, is preparing for an IPO in the first part of this year. The company, founded in 2010, could reach a whopping $12 billion valuation. Not bad for fewer than 10 years in business.

In September, Pinterest announced it had amassed 250 million users, all discovering and trying out new ideas. Each year it uses its search data to create the official 100 Pinterest trends for the year. If an idea keeps getting more and more searches each month, and that upward trajectory holds steady for 6+ months, then it’s a trend.

From travelling by bus to DIY goat soap. Growing your own avocados to men’s sling bags and lilac tinted hair. These are the 2018 trends set to continue this year.
