Ahead of the Paris Olympics Dame Laura and Sir Jason Kenny take to the skies to wish the athletes good luck
Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Britain’s most decorated Olympic couple, Dame Laura and Sir Jason Kenny, took to the skies to wish Team GB good luck from on top of the lastminute.com London Eye.
Dame Laura and Sir Jason Kenny hold 12 Olympic golds between them. Ahead of the world's biggest sporting event, the power couple waved the Union Jack in support of the athletes about to compete in the Paris games.
Standing 135 meters above the couple the pair delivered an inspiring message of support and encouragement before they both also leave for Paris. The pair know all too well the pressures of heading out to compete in the Olympic games making them the perfect wellwishers for 2024 Team GB.
The stunt marks a world first, as the first time two people have stood atop the Eye at the same time. The Kennys are the 10th and 11th people to undertake the stunt of standing on top of the eye’s carriages. Other sporting stars to hold the achievement include Sir Mo Farah and Sir Geoff Hurst.
Dame Laura Kenny, explains: “It was great to be able to mark the next stage of this incredible summer of sport we are having, by giving our support to all the British athletes travelling out to Paris from the top of one of the most iconic landmarks in the UK, and what a way to get the adrenaline pumping!”
“Who better to wish our incredible British athletes the very best of luck this summer than Britain’s most decorated Olympic couple, the Kenny’s! As our athletes prepare to compete in all the different Parisian sporting events over the coming weeks, we hope this serves as a reminder that the UK public are 100% behind them, and that we know they’ll make us all proud on the world stage.” added Steve Blackburn, Senior General Manager at the lastminute.com London Eye.
