In the midst of the coronavirus crisis, the work of NABS has never been more vital, which is why the NABS Virtual Art Auction will see all proceeds go directly to helping those in need across the industry.

The themes of this year’s annual NABS art auction perhaps couldn’t be more apt, a celebration of the kindness, empathy and resilience shown across the industry since lockdown began.

Works have already been submitted by creative leaders including Sir John Hegarty, Ben Casey and Dave Palmer. Now NABS is calling on the industry to submit their works for sale in order to raise funds for the industry charity.

The event comes as the charity experiences a phenomenal surge in demand for its vital support services from across the industry. NABS has experienced a 243% increase in calls around redundancy while calls from people seeking support around their contracts being terminated have nearly trebled since last year.

The art auction gives everyone working in adland a chance to support their colleagues while celebrating the courage we’ve seen so much of over the past few months.

During the crisis, NABS has digitised its services and launched innovative online support systems including a Knowledge Hub and Redundancy Tool. Its Masterclasses, now held over Zoom, bring together people across the country for mutual support, learning and sharing.

The Virtual Art Auction will take place online on the 24th September, having usually been held in Scotland. The event is organised by Kate Harris, Regional Director at NABS and Marian Arnold-Lawson, Account Manager.

Kate Harris explained: “Our industry needs NABS more than ever. Now everybody in the country has the chance to get creative and submit their artwork for this vital cause. The art auction gives everyone working in adland a chance to support their colleagues while celebrating the courage we’ve seen so much of over the past few months.”

The event is organised with the support of the NABS Scotland Committee and hosted by Mark Gorman, Chair of the NABS Scotland Committee. It is sponsored by News Scotland.

To submit your artwork visit the NABS website. The deadline for submission is 14th August 2020.
