The collection launches with interactive experience, Selfridges residency and Studio Ghibli exhibition
Loewe has launched its final collaboration with Studio Ghibli with a clothing, bag and accessories range inspired by the Ghibli classic, Howl’s Moving Castle. The collection features a range of wearable items that feature some of fans most favourite characters; Sophie, Howl, Calcifer, as well as Markl, Heen, Turnip Head, and the Witch of the Waste.
Stink Studios has created an exclusive mobile experience to bring the collection to life. Audiences are invited to access the experience via a custom QR code version of one of the film’s characters; a mischievous fire demon called Calcifer. Upon scanning the code, users are able to interact with scenes from the movie, and the choices they make determine which character from the movie they connect with most in an interactive quiz.
The collaboration has also been brought to life in Selfridges, where Loewe is taking residence from February 1st with an exclusive pre-launch of the capsule collection in the Corner Shop, a unique culinary experience and Studio Ghibli exhibition space. Images to promote the collection have been created by Jurgen Teller.
The collection successfully combines the world of luxury fashion with the fantastical whimsy of the Japanese animation house to create playful designs. Through the use of interactive experiences and real-life exhibitions and activations, the brand has successfully brought the collaboration to life.
