They say that in times of crisis, a little bit of humour can often go a long way, to both brighten the spirits and help us feel connected. The two things we need most during a time of nationwide lockdown and uncertainty.
To brighten up your evening, isobel are taking their stand-up comedy night isobelly laughs online, to host the evening LIVE AT YOUR GAFF. The comedy night, which has previously hosted the likes of Sara Pascoe and Marc Dolan, will be headlined by Sophie Duker from Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats and will also feature the comedians Cally Beaton and Joby Mageean.
Mike Shephard, a writer on Have I Got News for You will return as the evening’s frontman, while the event will be raising much-needed funds for Women’s Aid as the charity reveals a sharp increase in demands for its services during lockdown.
Jamie Williams, Managing Partner at isobel, believes that communal experiences are vital during lockdown. He explains, “So many events have been cancelled due to the lockdown, but isobelly laughs is such a big part of our agency culture, it’s really important for us to keep it going. In normal times, it’s an opportunity to bring together friends and partners across our industry to enjoy some brilliant stand-up comedy. We can’t all be together right now, but we’re still doing our very best to keep people laughing and to raise money for a fantastic and incredibly important charity.”
The isobelly Laughs LIVE AT YOUR GAFF event will take place on Thursday 7th May from 7.30pm-8.30pm online here // rsvp@isobel if you’d like to join in, and donate to Women’s Aid via the event JustGiving page here.
