My favourite is week four’s Cantaloupe. Described as “a silkier version of the youthful oranges which have been making a noise recently.”
Orange is known to be the colour of joy, freedom and happiness. Thought to create a balance between our physical and mental bodies. It is known to inspire freedom of thoughts and feelings, and disperse heaviness. Cantaloupe is a softer version, removing the overpowering vibrancy that orange can often have.
What I didn’t realise is that for a long time orange was a colour without identity. Known for centuries simply as red-yellow, it wasn’t until its eponymous fruit became widely recognised that the hue was named. Of course, orange has always existed, whether in bloomed flowers, blazing sunsets or well-known vegetables. However, in many native cultures they still see no need to give orange its own label.
