The news cycle and social media draws our attention to horrific  stories each and every day; be it the news of Child Q, Sarah Everard’s murder or abortion rights whittling away. Yet, an upcoming event from women’s network Bloom will argue that  these stories can awaken an anger within us that can be channeled toward creating transformative change.

On the 26th May Bloom is hosting  ‘The Red Mist: How to channel anger for positive change’ an event where speakers Dr Meenal Viz, Elizabeth Anyaegbuna, Diane Danzebrink and Nicky Clark will explore the power of anger and its ability to spark passion that drives action.

The event’s premise is that dead scrolling through social media the influx of negativity can leave you either disheartened or inspired to make change.

In contrast the session is designed to leave the audience:

  • More comfortable with feeling anger
  • Aware of the work you do and how important it is to support your mission
  • More empowered to voice your anger regardless of your place in the world or company infrastructure
  • More motivated to act on this and turn your anger into worthwhile activism
  • More aware of the need to offer allyship to those whose anger is dismissed or unheard
