Challenge:
The Museum of the Great War in Meaux pays tribute to the unknown heroines of the First World War: the nurses. These women, who responded to the call for mobilization, often in a voluntary and benevolent manner, had to face a massive influx of wounded and sick - the famous "broken faces" - on the front lines. Their dedication saved countless lives, sometimes at the risk of their own. Despite the iconic status they held in French society during wartime, their personal contributions and professional skills have gradually been forgotten by collective memory, turning them into unsung heroines. How can this exhibition be highlighted while paying homage to the nurses?
Solution:
To promote this event, we have designed a series of impactful visuals based on the strong principle of restoring the memory of the nurses using their own techniques, including bandaging and sewing. Each visual helps trace the thread of their story by highlighting significant facts and formulas. This campaign resonates with contemporary issues such as the recognition of the nursing profession and the role of women in history.
