Why personal style matters
How to find individuality amongst the trend cycles.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about bringing stories to life, from the very best.
When it comes to writing ads, it would be easy to focus on what you need to sell and to whom. But for anyone passionate about their craft, there is much more to creating compelling and meaningful communications than that.
In this special session we’ll explore the art of storytelling with Havas London’s straight-talking, master craftswoman, Chief Creative Officer Vicki Maguire, and one of the best creators of character, atmosphere and intensity on the page, the bestselling novelist, Kate Mosse.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about bringing stories to life, from the very best.
Add these ideas to your to-do list, in place of yet another video call, for a fresh approach to being creative in the midst of the crisis.
1/ Trust your own instincts. Base them on experience and research/knowledge, but then listen to your own inner voice
2/ Get it down on paper. There are lots of good ideas, but it’s the doing that matters
3/ Listen to the silence
4/ Give yourself time enough to reconsider. Editing, polishing, perfecting make all the difference
5/ Be proud of yourself
1/ Get your shit ideas out. Nature doesn’t like a vacuum. The more rubbish idea you get out of your head and down on paper the more room you make for the good stuff
2/ Stalk your audience. I believe you can’t have a conversation with them if you don’t know them. Go hang out. Stalk their social feeds. Read their papers. Listen to their music. Find a connection. Find something to like about them
3/ Get out of your bubble
4/ Find your voice. Then ignore her
5/ Everyone has shit days
