Showcasing award winners, the social media content brings fans into the prestigious world of the BAFTAs.
BAFTA and We Are Social teamed up for social coverage of the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards. The partnership extends to social coverage of the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises, happening in May. The work showcases award winners with red carpet content and a ‘Winners Run’ backstage activation.
This is the second year that We Are Social Studios has led the social coverage for the awards. This year, the aim of the work is to entertain an expanding range of viewers with platform-authentic content.
Taking a candid approach to the prestigious awards, short social videos show actors and actresses preparing to have a “moment in time” style photo taken, in celebration of their victories. The end result transforms a static image into a unique, motion sequence using a specialised rig of 16 cameras.
Capturing behind-the-scenes footage, the short videos show famous faces preparing to have their photos taken. Through this candid content, audiences are shown a more casual and unfiltered side of their favourite stars, bringing them into the world of the awards.
On the official BAFTA Instagram, Jesse Eisenberg, Gwendoline Christie, David Jonsson, Letitia Wright and James McAvoy, Warwick Davis and Tom Felton, have all participated in the content.
Speaking on the social coverage, Paul MacMahon, Head of Digital Content at BAFTA, said: “We are really excited to be working with We Are Social Studios again for this year’s awards. Their incredible expertise in end-to-end, social-first production continues to impress us, and this year’s ‘Winners Run’ backstage production has elevated BAFTA’s digital content to new heights and has been crucial in cementing our social presence”.
Dan Keefe, UK Head of We Are Social Studios, added: “We had some great learnings last year about how the winners wanted to celebrate these important moments, and along with our partners at BAFTA and Amity Studios we feel we really brought this vision to life”.
The candid style of content spotlights award winners while bringing audiences and stars closer together. Through social media, We Are Social Studios allows fans an insight into the prestigious world of the BAFTAs.
