SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk wants to prepare humans for the rise of artificial intelligence by helping us to merge with computers. According to The Wall Street Journal, his latest venture Neuralink, is a brain computer interface company whose ambition is to allow humans to seamlessly communicate with technology, without the need for a physical interface.
"Over time I think we will probably see a closer merger of biological intelligence and digital intelligence," said Musk at the Tesla launch in Dubai earlier this year. "It's mostly about the bandwidth, the speed of the connection between your brain and the digital version of yourself, particularly output."
He refers to this as “neural lace”, which is sci-fi shorthand for a brain-computer interface humans could use to improve themselves.
