Driving reappraisal of the SmartWatch 3

To drive reappraisal of the Sony SmartWatch 3, we identified a target audience who are interested in health and fitness, but increasingly relying on celebrity and influencer endorsement when it comes to making purchasing decisions.

 

Our strategy joined global sporting talent with an of-the-moment digital influencer, as we partnered with former world champion boxer, Carl Froch MBE and influential fitness vlogger, Carly Rowena, to put the SmartWatch 3 through its paces.

We followed Carl on his journey, creating a hero piece of video content documenting the week as he met with Carly and reviewed his results together. The video content that was generated was also used as an asset for social posts, as well as for use in traditional PR, where we placed media interviews for Carl. Video content included a Carl Froch Q&A, Carly Rowena dedicated SmartWatch 3 vlog, Carl Froch 5 day food diary, some of which were then used by Sony for digital adverts.

 

 

Results

Most significantly, the video
generated over 235,000 views
which resulted in a 422% increase
in UK sales and a 4% global uplift.
