A partnership celebrating the start of the
2018 World Cup in Russia

As part of Hyundai’s new brand campaign they enlisted Maroon 5 to cover Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds.

 

As a result of this partnership the brand had various assets that they wanted to publicise around the 2018 World Cup in Russia, this is where Cake came in.

The PR and social teams were enlisted to manage the global activation of the brand campaign, specifically around the FIFA World Cup. Our role included distributing assets including the music video, TVC and behind the scenes to the global media and alerting publications to the partnership between the car manufacturer and the Emmy award winning band.

The social team also took control of the band’s social media channels during the campaign, managing the publishing of posts.

 

Results

The global response was incredibly
positive with Hyundai’s campaign being mentioned across key global titles
including Billboard and Rolling Stone.
On launch day it also featured across
major broadcast channels and the music
video has been viewed organically
over 12 million times.
